Former Japan national soccer team player Takuya Yamada has been named General Manager for Blue United eFC.

New York | Tokyo – Blue United Corporation is honored to announce that the former Japan national soccer team player, Takuya Yamada, has been named the General Manager for Blue United eFC.

After graduating from university, former Japanese National Team player, Yamada played for four J.League clubs, including Verdy Kawasaki, Cerezo Osaka, Yokohama FC, and Sagan Tosu, with Verdy Kawasaki being his first club. In 2010, when he was 35, he joined the Tampa Bay Rowdies in the US for five seasons. Yamada Joined FC Imabari and Nara Club after returning to Japan; and he worked for Nike Japan as the Football Manager, Sports Marketing, after retiring from playing in 2017, where he grew his knowledge on the business and marketing verticals of sports.

Blue United eFC is the current Champion of Asia in FIFA, the biggest football video game in the world; the team has qualified to 3 out of the last 4 FIFAe World Cups, breaking industry records; and in 2021, Blue United eFC became Champion of the FIFAe Club World Cup 2021 in East Asia (Zone 2).
Blue United eFC is top 5 globally and is composed of 2 professional gamers, Agu and Tsakt, which are considered the highest talent in football gaming by industry experts and media. 

This is the team’s fourth season, and Blue United eFC continues to strive for a more stable team operation to achieve the official global title with the knowledge and experience of the former top athletes. 

“As of the 2021-22 season, I will assume the role of General Manager (GM) for Blue United eFC,” said Takuya Yamada, the newly appointed GM of Blue United eFC. ” Even though we are a young team, we have steadily achieved results and we are currently among the top teams in the world. In my role as GM, I aim to bring to the world of e-sports the knowledge and learnings that I have gained from my experiences in professional sports as an athlete and as a business professional. I will work with all of our partners to make e-sports in Japan one of the top industries, following Blue United eFC’s philosophy.
