Azusa Sekkei Co., Ltd. and Blue United held “AZUSA STADIUM & ARENA BUSINESS CONFERENCE (SABC)”

New York – Blue United Corporation and Azusa Sekkei Co., Ltd. held a business conference named “AZUSA STADIUM & ARENA BUSINESS CONFERENCE (SABC)” on March 7th, 2023, to contribute to the development of the Stadium/Arena business in Japan. 

More than 100 people participated in the conference both in-person and online. Four guest speakers were invited to share their insights into advanced case studies in Japan and abroad, as well as the underlying concepts that support them.

As the main session, Azusa Sekkei Co., Ltd. and Blue United Corporation invited Brian Kabatzinick, Executive Vice President of Oak View Group to have a session entitled “OVG’s Approach to Climate Change”. With over 30 years’ experience in entertainment business sector in the United States and internationally as senior executive for the world’s leading companies, he shared with the attendees many unique and up-to-date global case studies.

Mr. Takashi Watanabe, the counselor in charge of private-sector sports at the Japan Sports Agency, opened the event with a keynote speech on the importance of stadium and arena business development in Japan.

At the first session, Mr. Masakuni Nagahiro, Senior Executive Officer of Azusa Sekkei Co., Ltd. presented “Azusa Sekkei’s 5 Concepts and 3 Viewpoints” and focused on Azusa Sekkei’s vision for the stadium and arena business.

In the latter half of the first session, Mr. François de la Serre, President and Certified Architect of FRANÇOIS de LA SERRE Group, spoke on the theme of “Enhancement of Experience Value through renovation of rugby stadium in Agen, France” and introduced the Stade Armandie in Agen, France. 

In the second session, Mr. Takeshi Okada, the former Japan National Soccer Team coach and the Chairman of FC Imabari spoke about their new stadium, Imabari Satoyama Stadium. He also showed his desire for their stadium to continue to grow and become a symbol of the community.

After the sessions, an after-party was held at the venue for participants to discuss their thoughts and ideas for the further development of the stadium arena business in Japan.
