NWSL Interim Head Coach Masaki Hemmi Highlights Blue United FC In Conversation with USMNT Player Kellyn Acosta
Blue United FC, operated by our company in New York, is the only Japanese-owned soccer school in the city. Our mission goes beyond soccer training—we aim to share and celebrate Japanese culture and values with the local community, fostering deeper cross-cultural understanding through sport.
As part of our ongoing program, we host bi-monthly “Special Sessions” featuring Japanese professional players and coaches. For our very first session, we had the honor of welcoming Masaki Hemmi, who made history as the first Japanese interim head coach in the NWSL (National Women’s Soccer League) with Chicago Stars FC.
Recently, Coach Hemmi appeared in an official interview hosted by Chicago Fire FC (MLS), where he spoke with Kellyn Acosta, a former Chicago Fire player, USMNT member, and a proud athlete of Japanese descent. During their conversation, Coach Hemmi spoke highly of Blue United FC, describing our mission and activities as a “wonderful initiative.”
His words were deeply encouraging for our team, especially as we continue striving to build bridges between Japan and the United States through grassroots soccer and cultural exchange.
