Blue United eFC: 2025–2026 Season Report

Blue United eFC (BLU eFC) concluded its 2025–26 season following its participation in the Esports Nations Cup 2026 North Asia Qualifier in August 2026.

Throughout the season, the team competed in the domestic and regional FC Community Series 26, the FC Pro 26 Open, and the FC Pro 26 Cup—which served as qualifiers for the Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia—as well as the inaugural Esports Nations Cup Qualifier.

Season Highlights

■Tournament

• youxme: Won the 1st FC Community Series 26 Final Qualifiers.
• Tsakt & youxme: Competed in the Esports World Cup Last Chance Qualifier in Saudi Arabia.
• youxme: Won the 6th FC Community Series 26 Final Qualifiers, advancing to the FCS26 Asia Summer Final.
• Tsakt & youxme: Secured 1st and 2nd place in the Esports Nations Cup 2026 North Asia Qualifier, with youxme earning a spot to represent Japan at the World Championship.

■Team activities

• Official team jersey featured in EA SPORTS FC™ 26 for the 6th consecutive year, selected as one of only 13 clubs worldwide and the sole professional esports team from Japan.
• Team jersey used in 2.7 million in-game matches throughout the 2024–25 season, representing an approximate 3.9x increase year-over-year.
• Renewed partnership agreement with ATHLETA Co., Ltd.
• Signed a new supplier agreement with BASE FOOD Inc.
• Former GM Takuya Yamada appointed as Assistant Executive Officer of FC Imabari, while also serving as a coach for youth players at the Pacific Rim Cup Keiki Soccer Clinic in Hawaii.

Details

■Tournament

The season began with early challenges, as both Tsakt and youxme exited in the group stage at the “FC Community Series 26 Pre Season” in October 2025.

However, momentum shifted in November. At the “1st FC Community Series 26 Final Qualifiers,” featuring a highly competitive field of 54 players, youxme claimed victory. He was supported by Tsakt, who served as his coach for the event, leveraging their extensive experience as teammates and deep mutual understanding of their playstyles.

In February 2026, both players competed in the “FCS26 Asia Winter Final” but fell short of capturing the inaugural Asian championship title. A challenging period followed in domestic competitions, where the team narrowly missed advancing to main tournament draws. Returning to form in June, youxme secured a victory at the “6th FC Community Series 26 Final Qualifiers,” earning qualification for the “FCS26 Asia Summer Final.” Notably, he faced his teammate Tsakt in the final match of the qualifiers, marking the first all-BLU matchup of the season and highlighting the club’s competitive depth. youxme subsequently competed in the “FCS26 Asia Summer Final,” hosted at the JFA Soccer Culture Creation Center blue-ing!.

Approaching the end of the season in August 2026, youxme and Tsakt secured the top two positions in the Asia North Qualifier for the inaugural nation-vs-nation tournament, the “Esports Nations Cup 2026.” With this result, youxme earned the right to represent Japan at the world championship. (Please note: The Esports Nations Cup, originally scheduled for November 2026, was subsequently postponed to 2027.)

■Team activities

Featured in EA SPORTS FC™ for the Sixth Consecutive Year: The Only Professional Esports Club from Japan

The official team jersey and badge are featured in “EA SPORTS FC™ 26,” marking the sixth consecutive year of inclusion since EA SPORTS FIFA 21. Selected as one of only 13 clubs worldwide, BLU eFC remains the sole professional esports team from Japan to achieve this distinction.

During the 2024–25 season, the team jersey was worn in 2.7 million in-game matches globally, representing an approximate 3.9x increase from 700,000 matches in the previous year.

Partnership

• In October 2025, the club renewed its partnership agreement with ATHLETA Co., Ltd. In addition to supplying team jerseys and player wear, ATHLETA provides essential cold-weather gear to support the players’ condition management at tournament venues.
• AuB Inc. has continued to provide supplements that support the players’ gut health and daily physical conditioning.
• In January 2026, the club signed a new supplier agreement with BASE FOOD Inc., which provides the team with essential energy and nutritional support tailored for both daily health and match-day performance.

Team

• In January 2026, BLU eFC’s collaboration with Manchester City FC reached its scheduled conclusion.
• Takuya Yamada, former General Manager of the club, was appointed as Assistant Executive Officer of Method Global in the Football Operations Department at FC Imabari in January 2026. Furthermore, in August 2026, as part of an ongoing annual initiative, he participated in the Pacific Rim Cup Keiki Soccer Clinic held in Hawaii, serving as a coach for young children. BLU eFC takes great pride in seeing its former members continue to excel and contribute to the broader sports industry.

Content

• An interview featuring players Tsakt and youxme was published in the “Gut Health Forefront” feature of Magazine House’s Tarzan magazine (Issue No. 927, published June 11, 2026).
• On the club’s YouTube channel, informative content was released, analyzing formations used in actual tournaments and breaking down key plays that determined match outcomes.
• On the official X account, BLU eFC continues to distribute updates in both Japanese and English, currently engaging an audience of approximately 1,900 followers.
