Shishi from Blue United eFC finished as the runner-up in “eFootball™ Championship 2024 FC Bayern München Club Finals”

New York | Tokyo – Blue United eFC powered by Manchester City, the professional eSports team of Blue United Corporation, is pleased to announce that “Shishi” finished as the runner-up in the “eFootball™ Championship 2024 FC Bayern München Club Finals” held at Allianz Arena in Germany on March 28, 2024.

“eFootball™ Championship” is an eSports competition community of KONAMI’s eFootball™ (ex: Winning Eleven) series. The previous tournament was considered the largest official eFootball event in the world, with a total of 20 million participants, and users from all over the world competed for the top spot.

This tournament consists of Open Qualifiers and Club Events in various regions, followed by the World Finals. Additionally, there are separate divisions for “Mobile” (smartphones) and “Console” (PS5, etc.). The Club Event, newly added from eFootball™ 2024, is a tournament held for each eFootball™ Official Partner Club such as FC Barcelona, AC Milan, and FC Bayern Munich. Players who win the Club Event, just like in the Open qualifiers, earn the right to participate in “World Finals”.

The “FC Bayern München Club Finals” in which Player Shishi participated is also one of the Club Events. Players who advanced through the online qualifiers (Round 1~3) competed in the offline tournament, the Club Finals. Shishi, who made it through the qualifiers, headed to the Allianz Arena, the home stadium of FC Bayern Munich, as the representative of Japan.

This tournament, which was streamed on the eFootball™ official YouTube channel, saw FC Bayern Munich player Frank Müller making a live appearance as a guest commentator. In front of the world-renowned star player, Shishi engaged in intense battles against formidable opponents.

After a great effort, Shinshi placed second in the tournament. Despite advancing through the group stage and reaching the finals, he fell just short of moving to the next stage of the competition. Although not securing a spot in “World Finals” in this tournament, Shishi’s performance in Germany as a player of Blue United eFC, known for its international activities, is something to be proud of. As the eFootball™ Championship 2024 Club Events and Open qualifiers will continue in the future, Shishi, along with Tess, another player from our team, will continue to strive for a place in the World Finals.

“I’ve often struggled when I couldn’t get momentum going early on, but after losing and drawing in the first three matches of the qualifiers, I managed to break through with a 2-0 victory. While reflecting on the difference between being eliminated in the qualifiers and finishing as the runner-up after years in the professional scene, I realized that I was able to showcase some growth during the qualifiers. I believe my efforts paid off in this result. This tournament has given me confidence in my ability to perform under pressure. On the technical side, I feel there’s room for improvement starting from the basics, so I’m committed to studying from scratch and working on it diligently. Looking ahead, I aim to continue this effort.”
