youxme and Tsakt from Blue United eFC are aiming to compete in the World Championship and will participate in DreamHack.
New York | Tokyo – Blue United eFC powered by Manchester City, the professional eSports team of Blue United Corporation, is pleased to announce that ”youxme” & “Tsakt” will participate in the world’s largest eSports event: “Dream Hack.” This event also serves as the preliminary qualifier for competing in the EA SPORTS FC24 (“FC24”), part of the Esports World Cup.
The Esports World Cup, where FC24’s world championship is held, is the successor event to “Gamers8,” which has been called the world’s largest esports festival. Gamers8 has hosted tournaments for various popular titles such as Rocket League, Fortnite, and Rainbow Six Siege.
Until last year’s FIFA 23, this game was the only tournament sponsored by FIFA that hosted a world championship. Starting from the current installment, FC24 has been included in the Esports World Cup lineup.
The Esports World Cup will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for eight weeks from July to August 2024. FC24 is among the 19 competitive titles announced so far, and top players from around the world in each game title will compete for prize money.
The total prize money is over $60 million US dollars. Since the highest total prize money in past eSports was $45 million at Gamers8, this Esports World Cup is the largest Esports event ever. Surpassing the previous record by over $15 million highlights the significant global growth of the eSports market.
One of the qualifiers for participation in the FC24 division of this Esports World Cup will be held within Dream Hack. Dream Hack is an event organized by a company headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. There, users gather with their laptops to indulge in gaming all day long, centered around “BYOC: Beyond Your Own Computer,” while also featuring a fusion of subcultures including gaming, music, and anime, making it a grand festival.
Every year, tournaments are held worldwide, and in 2023, “Dream Hack Japan 2023 Supported by GALLERIA” took place at Makuhari Messe in Japan. This year, the event is confirmed to be held in five locations worldwide. The Esports World Cup FC24 division qualifiers will be held in Dallas (USA) and Jönköping (Sweden). Tsakt is scheduled to participate in the Dallas tournament, while both youxme and Tsakt are expected to participate in the Jönköping tournament.
Dream Hack
・Melbourne – Australia(4/26~4/28)
・Dallas – America(5/31~6/2)
・Jönköping – Sweden(6/14~6/16)
・Atlanta – America(10/4~10/6)
・Stockholm – Sweden(11/22~11/24)
Each qualifier will be held over three days, with players divided into four groups to compete. The top 16 players from each group will advance to the playoffs of the final stage, with two players from the Dallas event and six players from the Jönköping event earning the right to compete in the Esports World Cup.
In addition to competing for the opportunity to participate in the Esports World Cup, players compete for a total of $100,000 in prize money for each event. Dream Hack is also positioned as a large-scale global event, offering lucrative prize money and global recognition as an eSports tournament.
The matches will be streamed on the Dream Hack official channel. Once details are finalized, they will be announced via the Blue United eFC official X. Updates on the players’ preparations and performance on the day of the event and match results will also be shared on X, so please stay tuned!
youxme’s comment
“This is my first international tournament challenge in a 1v1 setting this year. In the EA-sponsored 1v1 Asia tournament earlier this year, I fell just one win short of reaching the world finals, leaving me incredibly disappointed. So, this event holds significant personal meaning for me, and I am approaching it with determination. I will do my best.”
Tsakt’s comment
“I am excited to announce that I will be competing in the Dallas event starting May 31st, followed by the Sweden event starting June 14th. It has been a while since I have taken on an international tournament challenge, and I am thrilled to participate in this international competition format for the first time. With FC24, I have been enjoying a good streak this season, so I am looking forward to seeing how I stack up against players from around the world. Additionally, I plan to actively document and share my experiences from these events, hoping they can be useful for everyone in the future. Your support means a lot, so thank you in advance.”
