youxme Falls Short of World Championship Qualification Despite Top Japanese Performance at DreamHack

New York | Tokyo—Blue United eFC powered by Manchester City, Blue United Corporation’s professional eSports team, is pleased to announce that Tsakt and youxme competed in the “FC24 Qualifier—Main Round” at the international esports event DreamHack, aiming to qualify for the “Esports World Cup” in EA SPORTS FC24 (FC24).

FC24 Qualifier – Main Round is a qualifying tournament for the Esports World Cup. Top players from all over the world gathered to compete at a very high level. The FC24 Qualifier – Main Round was held in Dallas, USA (May 31-June 2) and Jönköping, Sweden (June 14-16). With over 500 players participating, this was one of the world’s largest offline competitions for FC24.

Our team provides various support to ensure that our players are in the best possible condition to take on not only domestic but also international competitions. At this year’s tournament, in addition to arranging hotels and airline tickets, securing practice sites, and confirming local schedules, the team also provided mental and conditioning support, including preparing necessary equipment and mentally supporting the players.

Youxme achieved the best performance among Japanese players in Sweden but, unfortunately, did not secure a spot in the Esports World Cup. Meanwhile, Tsakt, who has recently dominated domestic tournaments, faced early exits in both events, losing in the initial rounds and falling to the losers’ bracket.

Our players proved that they have competitive skill sets and abilities compared with top-level players. However, this tournament highlighted the need to adapt to the unique challenges of international competition, including different playing styles and the ability to perform under pressure in unfamiliar environments.

Tsakt’s comments
“I ended both tournaments with two wins and two losses, with crucial mistakes being exploited by my opponents. I felt the difference in the ability to take risks and make decisive plays with minimal errors. Their spatial awareness and the use of dribbling and passing were highly sophisticated, often catching my defense off guard. However, if it is only about technique, there is no big difference between them and the top-level players in Japan. I realized the importance of honing my skills to seize critical moments. Despite the frustration of not performing at my best, I found aspects where I could compete. I will reflect on this experience and prepare thoroughly for the remaining domestic tournaments to finish the FC24 season on a high note.”

youxme’s comments
“I felt that the gap between us and the world lies in preparation. Opponents meticulously analyzed our defense and crafted their attacks, working closely with their coaches. Although I was in a ‘group of death,’ I won my first match 4-3 against a former Italian national team player and, despite shaking from nerves, won my second match against an English player. In the third match, I boldly challenged Abu Makkah, who has recently achieved top results worldwide, but his superiority was evident. In the final match, environmental factors affected my performance, leading to frustration. While I was the top Japanese player, I felt a need for more experience in competing globally. Many lessons were learned from facing technically superior players, and I was prompted to reconsider what it means to be a professional.”
