New York | Tokyo – Tsakt and youxme, representing Blue United eFC powered by Manchester City, the professional esports team of Blue United Corporation, are aiming to compete in the EA SPORTS FC24 (hereinafter referred to as FC24) World Championship at the Esports World Cup (details here).

Among these efforts, Tsakt participated in the “FC24 Dallas Qualifier – Main Round” at the world’s largest esports event, “DreamHack,” held in Dallas, Texas, USA, at the end of May 2024. Unfortunately, he narrowly missed securing a spot in the Esports World Cup.

However, as their next challenge, Tsakt and youxme will compete in “DreamHack Jönköping” held in Sweden from Friday, June 14th to Sunday, June 16th, aiming to secure their ticket to the Esports World Cup.

As a team, we are fully committed to ensuring our players are in the best possible condition for the tournament. This includes travel logistics, securing top-notch practice venues, managing on-site events, and preparing all necessary equipment and mental readiness to maintain their condition.

The matches will be streamed on the official DreamHack channel. As soon as details are confirmed, they will be announced on the official Blue United eFC Twitter (X). DreamHack, organized by a company headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, is an event where participants bring their own computers and enjoy gaming around the clock. It is a major festival where gaming, music, anime, and other subcultures converge.

Held annually around the world, DreamHack hosted “DreamHack Japan 2023 Supported by GALLERIA” at Makuhari Messe last year in Japan. The Esports World Cup FC24 qualifiers take place in two locations: Dallas, Texas, USA, and Jönköping, Sweden. Tsakt participated in the Dallas tournament this time.

At the FC24 Dallas Qualifier – Main Round in DreamHack, approximately 240 players worldwide competed for a spot in the Esports World Cup. During the three-day qualifiers, players were divided into 16 groups, with only one player from each group advancing to the final stage. Of these 16 players, only two would secure a spot in the Esports World Cup, making it an extremely competitive event with slim odds of advancing.

The group stage qualifiers used a “double elimination format,” where players had a second chance to advance unless they lost twice, incorporating a loser’s bracket style. Unfortunately, Tsakt was eliminated in the third match of the loser’s bracket round after losing his first match.

“This tournament was extremely high-level, with top players from various regions coming together. While disappointed that I couldn’t achieve better results, experiencing gameplay and strategies I had never seen in Japan was incredibly valuable. There are still qualifiers left for the Esports World Cup. I will use the experience gained here to train hard for the qualifiers in Jönköping. Thank you for your support.”
